How to fix Troubleshooting step ring camera

  • Verify the status of your Ring camera whether it is powered on or not by checking whether the light is blinking or lit.
  • Ensure that the camera is placed within the Wi-Fi range and move it close to the device if it has to be closer to the router.
  • Test other devices to confirm the presence of an active Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart the router along with the modem to resend signals, and that usually resolves any connectivity issues.
  • Make sure that the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly, and check the compatibility of the network, as Ring cameras only operate on 2.4GHz networks.
  • Check the Ring app for possible updates, and download them if available.
  • Perform a factory reset on the camera by long-pressing the setup button for 15 seconds until the light blinks; then reconfigure through the app.
  • Try connecting the camera with the app manually since the automatic process failed.
  • Make sure the camera is free from any blockage in terms of its view or signal.
  • If the video is still cloudy, move the camera to a better-positioned location or reduce the number of devices in your network.
  • Contact Ring support if none of these steps resolves the issue.
